Dear Families,
The 2024 solar eclipse will occur today, Monday, April 8th. Although St. Patrick School will not be in the “path of totality,” where the moon completely covers the sun, we’re still anticipating 85% plus sun coverage this afternoon. Ensuring the eye safety of students is important. To this end, students will engage in indoor recess and activities throughout the eclipse unless cloud cover allows for safe outdoor activities. The lower building will not be traveling between buildings this afternoon. Grades 2nd-5th have elected to use safety precautions (solar glasses) and view the eclipse for a short period this afternoon.
